DevOps Specialist
Development Team
We are seeking a DevOps Specialist to focus on a new cloud-based system. Primary duties include the management of production, staging, and testing environments in Azure. This key individual should have experience making decisions and working both independently and as part of a small, dynamic team where everything you do makes a difference. Secondary duties will include working with the implementation teams to address new customers, as well as deployment and production support activities.
As a DevOps Specialist at Velozient, you will report to the Managing Director fulfilling the following requirements:
Required Experience
- 5+ years in DevOps role
- 3+ years working with software solutions deployed in Microsoft Azure environment
- Experience with IIS, SQL Server, or other web servers as well as relational database platforms
- Willingness to assist client services personnel and customers when struggling to utilize our Azure deployed software application
- Experience/understanding of Elasticsearch
- Familiarity with TeamCity, Jenkins, Gitlab, or other continuous integration and deployment platforms
- Very strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Excellent analytic troubleshooting capabilities and problem-solving skills
Desired Experience
- Managing production, staging, and test environments in Azure
- Background in development particularly with C# and JavaScript
- Familiarity with configuration management solutions, such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack, or others
- Familiarity with New Relic or other cloud-ready APM (Application Performance Management) solutions
- Oil and gas accounting application experience
- Experience with project management tracking systems such as YouTrack, ZenHub, or Targetprocess
- Knowledge of enterprise networking
Additional Information
- This is a permanent position
- Typical week is 40-45 hours, Monday – Friday; 160-176 hours monthly
